Craniosacral therapy is a variation of chiropractic and osteopathic medicine. A gently applied pressure on different areas of the body increases the flow of cerebrospinal fluid and helps a number of ailments. Craniosacral therapists say that there is a link between the fluid in the head and the sacrum (the base of the lower back) and that the rhythm of the fluid that flows between these areas can be detected like a pulse. The treatment normalizes, balances, and gets rid of blockages in various systems throughout the body. With the blockages removed, the body can function in a healthy manner. This therapy can be used to help with many different ailments. Some of the most common ailments are headaches, pain, jaw issues, chronic fatigue, poor coordination, eye problems, depression, attention deficit disorder, problems with the central nervous system, the immune system, and the endocrine system, and many other conditions. Craniosacral can be used in conjunction with other treatments such as Auriculotherapy and chiropractic or by itself. What clients say about craniosacral therapy
My daughter was born as a breech birth and it was recommended by my doula to seek a craniosacral therapist or a chiropractor. I have been to chiropractors in the past who left me in a lot of pain and the craniosacral therapy, while I didn’t fully understand all of it’s benefits at the time, seemed like a gentler approach for a 4-day old baby. It turned out to be the best decision as I watched her become comfortable in her body and allow me to swaddle her that very same day. I had been concerned about her posture and she has great posture now. She avoided all of the concerns of hip dysplasia. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to give it a try myself, it is great for moms who’ve just given birth too.
